Well, here we are. It’s a big day for us. We’re all at Tellybug Towers marshalling some humungous servers in preparation for a big social TV gig around ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent tonight at 8:20pm on ITV1. By humungous, think about a search engine serving 300m searches per day and then add some.
Why? Because Britain’s Got Talent is one of the biggest shows in the UK with viewing audiences that regularly top 10 million. Focussing that many people on an interactive experience takes some big iron and a bit of nerve. Luckily we have access to both; oh, and we’re wearing our brown trousers.
We’ve been beavering away for the past few weeks to produce the brand new BGT 2011 Social Buzzer. There’s also an Android app available produced by our good friends at Grapple. Apps for iPhone, Blackberry and Nokia will be here any day now.
Wherever you see the buzzer, it’ll be hooked up to us so we can count how many people get buzzing around the show. So, find it; buzz it; share it.
