The elves have been hard at work in the code mines and have come up with some lovely shiny new gems. Today we released them for you all to enjoy.
Here’s what’s new:
Flash widget for use on the web
- Shows which polls are new
- Shows how you’ve voted once you’ve voted, if you come back to the poll again and can’t remember!
- Adds twitter and facebook sharing
- Supports different fonts to better match the surrounding webpage style
Console
- New controls over whether the voters can see the current results and/or the number of votes. This can be set on a per-event basis, or individually for a poll
- Quick cut and paste HTML code for embedding a Flash widget for a specific poll in your web page
Results
- Faster and more consistent transitions from one slide to another. Previously, there was a delay after clicking while the server was asked for the latest results. This no longer happens - the results screen constantly updates in the background so can always show up-to-date results.
- Navigation and display even if internet connection drops. The results screen now caches all the results for a carousel, so can always display a slide even if the internet connection drops
- New “Reveal” slide transition, which shows the actual results only on a press of the space bar
- Bug fix: A browser refresh by pressing F5 will no longer cause vote numbers to display as the carousel is correctly reloaded.
- Bug fix: Changes to a poll question will now automatically be reflected in the slide title unless the slide title has been manually edited.
Other
- New improved Facebook embedding. If a user shares a poll on facebook, the Flash widget will be embedded allowing direct voting from the Facebook page.
- Bug fix: There was a small window where someone who was looking at a poll when it closed would still have been able to vote. This is now fixed, and any votes after the poll closes are no longer accepted
