New features in Console

We’ve just rolled out a new version of the console that customers use to manage their polls.

This version adds drag-and-drop carousel creation, which completes and complements the new carousels feature recently released in the results screen.

With Carousels you now have much more control over how the results of your polls are displayed to users, including creating automatic slideshows for unattended display.

If you’re already a Live Talkback user, login to http://app.livetalkback.com/console to try out carousels for yourself. And if you’re not using Live Talkback yet, now would be a great time to start.

There were also a couple of other small changes in the latest release:

  • Events and polls can now be enabled/disabled by clicking the checkbox in the event/poll list on the Event tab. This was something that lots of users wanted, as did we. And finally we worked out how to work round some limitations in the framework we use to create the console to make it possible.
  • Tagging - events can now be tagged with arbitrary tags. Right now we don’t do much with any tags, but they’ll be the basis of a raft of cool new features soon.

As ever, I’m very keen to hear any comments - good or bad - about these new features, or anything else about the Live Talkback software.
