BBC / Talpa / Wall to Wall Television
From the second series of The Voice in the UK, Tellybug has partnered with the BBC and local producer Wall to Wall to produce The Voice Predictor game in 2013 and The Voice HomeCoach app in 2014. Each app has brought deeper levels of audience interaction and play-along and is only the 2nd official show companion app produced by the BBC. Since its first launch in March 2013, The Voice UK app has become the BBC’s most successful play-along ever.
Mimicking the coaches in the studio, viewers can join in with all the fun and drama between shows as well as during broadcast transmission. Viewers are given access to previews of every performer’s audition and also asked to rate the performances during TX. Just like on TV, the user presses the red button to spin the chair and predict whether the artist will go through. No spin of the chair and you’ve predicted that the performer will be rejected. Predictions are then saved, shared via Facebook and Twitter for comparison with the show as it airs.
Each phase of the show format is replicated in play-along form with regular app updates as the show series progresses.
